Child Care Benefits

Subsidized child care benefits ensure high quality care for children while their parents or guardians are at work, in training, or receiving an education. Subsidized child care benefits may also be provided as part of a protective service plan to prevent abuse, neglect or exploitation. The subsidy is paid directly to the child care provider on the family’s behalf. The family must be a member of a federally recognized tribe, meet income guidelines and reside in service area.

Eligibility Guidelines:

1. Parents/Guardians must be working, going to school, in need of protective services, and/or actively participating in a structured job search for the purpose of obtaining employment. Includes: high school, college, post-graduate work, GED preparation, Vo-tech, and job skills training programs.

2. Household income must be at or below the amount listed for your family size to receive assistance paying childcare expenses. See Income Eligibility Scale in the downloads section below.

4. Family lives within the Modoc Nation Child Care & Development Fund (CCDF) Service Area. The Modoc Nation CCDF Service Area consists of 41 counties in Oklahoma, Missouri, Arkansas & Kansas. See below service area map.

5. Children may not be older than 12 years of age. However, children with special needs may qualify for services up to age 19. A child with special needs is any child who has a documented medical disability that requires special care.

6. The parent/guardian must use a child care facility contracted with the Modoc Nation.

7. The parent/guardian will need to provide the documents listed on the Program Information Sheet & Check List.

How to Apply for Subsidy:

Clients need the following information and forms:

  • Print Program Information Sheet & Check List and gather applicable documents
  • Print and complete Application for Child Care Assistance
  • Print and complete the Priority Rules for Special Needs and Protective Services
  • Print and complete the Client Responsibilities and Agreement
  • Print and complete the Client Employment Verification for each adult in household
  • Forms are located in the download section below.

Once complete, please submit all required documents to Modoc Nation CCDF.

If the parent/guardian subsidy application is approved, certification lasts up to 12 months.
